Photograph depicts the Plaza Theatre at 881 Granville St, Vancouver, British Columbia. The Plaza Theatre was originally opened as the Maple Leaf Theatre in 1924 and became the Plaza Theatre in 1939. Seating 925, it became The Odeon in 1966. Closed in 1991, The Odeon reopened in 1997, only to close again a year later. In 1999, retaining it's original marquee, the The Odeon became the Plaza Club, a nightclub/live performance space.

Odeon-Hastings (formerly Pantages) Theatre, 20 West Hastings, Vancouver, British Columbia

Photograph depicts the Hastings Odeon Theatre at 20 W Hastings St, Vancouver, British Columbia. It started off as a second Pantages Theatre, built by Alexander Pantages during the years of the first World War. It officially opened in 1917 and was home to performances by Charlie Chaplin, Gypsy Lee Rose, and Jack Dempsey. It later became the Beacon, then the Majestic, and finally the Hastings Odeon. When the building began to decay, it was sold to a parking lot operator who razed the building.

Mayor Taylor of Vancouver and performer, Orpheum Theatre

Photograph depicts Mayor Taylor of Vancouver (right) making a presentation to a performer at Orpheum Theatre. The Orpheum Theatre was built in 1927 by the Orpheum vaudeville circuit and showed mainly movies until the 1970s. In 1974, it was purchased by the City of Vancouver, underwent extensive renovations and was reopened in 1977 as the home of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
