Leon Braverman

Oral history interview with Leon Braverman who was born in Ganchasti, Bessarbia in 1890. He learned to be a watchmaker in Russia. Started his own watchmaking business which collapsed, he than worked at Birks jewelry store in Vancouver, than Miller's Jewelers.

Harry Ferman

Oral history interview with Harry Ferman who was born 1898 in Russia. He and his brothers emigrated to Canada in 1912. Joined the Jewish Legion in Winnipeg and went to basic training in Windsor, N.S. and England. He arrived on the front in the Middle East when Turkey surrendered; Harry's unit responsible for German and Turkish prisoners. Later he would spend his life farming in Kamsack, B.C.

Al Kolberg

Oral history interview with Al Kolberg who was born in Saskatoon, 1919. His father came from Russia in 1905 where he worked as a shochet. Al recalls the reasons for Jewish assimilation in Vancouver in the early to mid twentieth century.
