Sally Rogow

Oral history interview with Sally Rogow, who was born in New York, 1930. Sally's grandparents were born somewhere in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Sally's uncle was the first Jewish man to be a Lieutenant Colonel in the Canadian Army, while her mother helped organized women during the Second World War. Sally worked as a teacher, teaching blind and handicap children, eventually advocating for those with Special Needs.

John Gort

Oral history interview with John Gort who was born in Breslau, Germany. Escaped Gestapo while in school in Frankfurt in November 1939 due to local police. He went on to study in England but quit and than volunteered for the British Army. He worked in London, England; Northern Rhodesia and Vancouver in medical technician and psychiatric nursing. The interview also discusses John's study of German philosophers.

Colour Kodachrome 35mm slide depicts a group of young men in military uniforms in front of the Trans-Siberian train station in Irkutsk.

Note for slide reads: "We then asked to be taken to Trans-Siberian Station. The word 'Irkutsk' is on top of Station." A train had just arrived and these people were waiting for transportation. As was this group of young Russian soldiers."
