[First installation banquet of B'nai B'rith in Vancouver]

Photograph depicts the first B'nai B'rith installation banquet in Vancouver. Written on verso: First Installation Banquet of B'nai B'rith in Vancouver took place in 1910. The year in which Samuel Lodge 668 (now Vancouver Lodge) was founded. The late Judge Samuel Schultz, first local president of B'nai B'rith is sitting just to the left of the menorah.

Dr. MacDonald (superintendent) and pupils

The community service committee of B'nai B'rith Lion's Gate Lodge presented a 21-inch 1958 Console Philco TV set to the Jericho Hill School for the deaf. Dr. C. MacDonald, director of the school, reported that the TV set would give his pupils both entertainment and practice with their lip-reading. The photograph is attached to a scrapbook. It depicts Dr. C. MacDonald and three of his pupils admiring the new TV set in its place at the school.

[Preparing Easter treats]

Photograph attached to scrapbook. It depicts members of B'nai B'rith Lion's Gate Lodge C. C. A. Committee and their wives posing with Easter baskets that they prepared for the children of the Children's Aid Society. Members (in the back row) include Maurice Lifchus (left), Jack Sparton (third from left), Chuck Kemp (third from right), and Sam Gordon (right).

Photograph attached to scrapbook. It depicts the dedication and presentation service for a new sefer Torah being presented to the Jewish Home for the Aged. Preceding the service, the Torah was carried under a canopy in a procession from 49th Avenue and Fremlin Street to the Home at 54th Avenue and Oak Street.

Entertainment for both parties was arranged by B'nai B'rith Lion's Gate Lodge.
