Sylvester family

Series consists of textual records, photographs and books belonging to the Frank Sylvester family, of which were donated in 1995 to Congregation Emanu-El from Mrs. Maria Macrae. Also included in the 1995 donation were a number of artifacts including: a gold pocket watch (inscribed 'Miss L.M. Sylvester', circa 1892), a mezuzah (from Frank Sylvester’s home), and 4 books (not directly related to the Sylvester family). However the gold pocket watch, mezuzah and four books were not included in the 2012 donation to the Jewish Museum & Archives of BC; they remain in the custody of Congregation Emanu-El.

Spitzer family

Series contains photographs of Olga Spitzer's side of the family. Series mainly consists of portraits, but also includes travel photos, identity cards, and others. Includes photographs of Olga as a child and young adult before marriage to Fritz Langer.

Langer family

Series contains photographs and some letters of the Langer family, beginning with the marriage of Fritz and Olga. Materials were created on Fritz and Olga's travels before having children, in daily life in Vienna, throughout the family's journey to Canada through France and Palestine, in daily life in Vancouver, and when visiting family in St. Louis. Series also includes photographs of friends of the Langer family.

Lowy family

Series contains photographs of Fritz Lowy's (later Langer) side of the family. Photographs include portraits, vacation photos, and other family photos. Includes photographs of Fritz as a child and young adult before marriage to Olga Spitzer.

Geyerhahn family

Series contains photographs of the family of George Geyerhahn, the husband of Mimi Lowy. Photographs are mostly from family gatherings such as weddings.
