Oral History Interview with Cissie Eppel. She talks about her family history and them moving from Latvia to England. Cissie was born in England. Her father was a tailor. She met her Husband during the war when her family would house Jewish soldiers. She moved to Canada in 1952 with her husband and child. They came by train right to Vancouver. They settled in the West End and opened a picture framing store. She was very involved with the National Council and JFSA. In 1992 she established the Jewish Genealogical Society of BC.
Oral history interview with Hinda Simkin who was born in Winnipeg, 1937. Hinda was a part of the Girl Guides when she was younger and after moving to Vancouver and joining Beth Israel Synagogue she worked with the Girl Guides. Hinda belongs to the National Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah, Volunteer Grand-parents Society and Nat’l Council of Jewish women.
Oral history interview with Marjorie Groberman and Bea Goldberg, who were born in Edmonton, Alberta and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan respectively. Both have been involved in Vancouver's Hadassah Bazaar development. The Jewish community was enthusiastic in their support of the Bazaar which first was held at the Sea Forth Armories, eventually moving to the PNE fairgrounds. Marjorie has helped to develop a number of cities' Bazaar's across Canada.
Oral history interview with Susan (nee Ricardo) Quastel, who was born in the Netherlands, 1923. She lost her sister and parents to the Holocaust. Susan worked as a nurse throughout the war in Holland, than began studied nursing and a course on matrons at Oxford. Susan came to Vancouver primarily because of her husband who was from Vancouver. Susan is a member of the National Council of Jewish Women, Vancouver chapter of Hadassah, Jewish Family Services, of Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University and has helped research at the Vancouver Holocaust Society.
Oral history interview with Marjorie Groberman, whose mother was born in 1894. Marjorie was involved in Youth Aliyah and Young Judea when she was younger. In her later life Marjorie has focused on developing programs for the senior community. Helped opened the first Hadassah in Vancouver, in partnership with family business 'National Furniture' and Blossom Wine.
Oral history interview with Judy Zaitzow who was born in Vancouver. Her Grandfather William Seidelman was a postmaster and a shochet. Judy discusses her family history in detail through her Grandparents, parents, brother and sisters. Judy volunteers time with the Beth Israel school board, Hadassah, was door-to-door volunteer for Mothers March (forerunner of United Way), and for Heart & Stroke fund.

Oral history interview with Abe Jampolsky who was born in Lipton like his two brothers. Abe's grandparents were Ukrainians who emigrated to Canada in 1906. Met his wife Ldyia, in Montreal and after having children moved to Vancouver in 1955. Besides running a successful clothing business, Abe participated throughout the Jewish community in Vancouver. He was involved in the B. I. men’s club, the Jewish Community Centre, the Israel Bonds Committee, the Jewish National Fund, Vancouver's Talmud Torah and the Sharey Tefillah congregation. Abe speaks of the changing nature of the business dealing with Chinese clientele in the 80's and 90's when he'd started serving Caucasians as the Asian community had not expanded until the last quarter of the century.
Oral history interview with Ernest ("Smoky") Smith who was born in British Columbia in 1914. Ernest fought in Italy during the Second World War under the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, earning a Victoria Cross for his actions on the Po river. Noteworthy for how he received his cross.
