Bill Morris

Oral history interview with Bill Morris who was born just outside of Moscow, Russia. The family emigrated to Canada in 1913. Bill's father was active with the Jewish Aid Society. Bill joined the Canadian army and was active during the Second World War, seeing action primarily in Italy.

Bolshoi [Theatre]

Note for this slide reads: "Bolshoi - best known of all theatres. We saw opera 'Queen of Spades' by Tchaikovsky. Tickets scarce. Took camera. Costumes and settings were beautiful. Music magnificent."

Cathedral of the Annunciation

Note for this slide reads: "The historical centre of Kremlin is Cathedral Square and this is where the coronation of the czars took place. There are 7 cathedrals - main ones are Assumption, Annunciation and Archangel Michael. These are now museums and painting and frescoes are being restored. Archangel Michael - buried vault for czars and princes built 15th century."
