Oral interview with Barbara Halparin. Interviewed by Catherine Bellamy for SLAIS Oral History class.
Mrs Halparin is a member of Temple Sholom and is very involved with their Hesed Community, and organisation that celebrates life cycle events, such as births, marriages, bar and bat mitzvahs, and deaths, as well as provides outreach services to those in need. She also volunteers her time with Chevrah Kadishah, a service that prepares bodies for burial in keeping with Jewish law or halacha. She was the first convert to Judaism to sit on the board of the women's Chevrah Kadishah in Vancouver. A large portion of the interview was set aside for discussing Jewish death and burial traditions and customs.

Oral Interview with Barbara Heller for the JMABC Artists Scribe. Interviewed by Daniella Givon. Barbara, born in Vancouver Canada, talks about her family’s origins in Poland and immigration to Canada. She speaks about her upbringing in Vancouver and how she was surrounded by art in her childhood, leading her to become a visual person and a creative. Barbara discusses her interest in religious mysticism which inspired her education and later, became a specific influence in her art pieces. She speaks about how at first she wanted to be a printmaker but pregnancy led her to work with tapestry and she never looked back. She speaks about recurring symbols, like dead birds, in her art which provide a greater message to her audience about themes like life and war. Barbara discusses the highlights of her career, like showing art in Poland and working with various art collectives within North America, all with the support of her family.

Interview with Barbara Lucas. Interviewed by Debby Freiman on her father, Michael Wolochow, for the Scribe 2019. Barbara talks about her father's early life in Mayerthorpe, Alberta, meeting her mother at Talmud Torah in Edmonton, and family memories. The interview focuses on Dr. Wolochow's professional career as a family doctor and general practitioner. He worked for a long period with Stanley Sunshine. Dr. Wolochow cared deeply about making a difference, serving immigrant communities from the East Side of Vancouver. She is a prolific writer and researcher, having published 4 books / papers on the Jewish community with focuses on Synagogues and Holocaust memorials.
