Postcard from Private Edward Joseph Seidelman, dated June 23, 1917. (Assumed sent from France) to Rachel Seidelman of Vancouver. There are sentences already printed on the back of the postcard and some of these sentences have been crossed out.

Letter - June 27, 1917

Letter from Private Edward Joseph Seidelman, dated June 27, 1917. Sent from "Somewhere in France" to Rachel Seidelman of Vancouver. Private Seidelman says in the letter that he left the hospital on June 11 and returned to his battalion on June 12. He also mentions that since mid-February, he has been on the Western front. Additionally, Private Seidelman expresses concern over his family's situation at home, asking Rachel to help so that their family will not fall on hard times again.

Letter from Private Edward Joseph Seidelman, dated July 3, 1917. Sent from "Somewhere in France" to Rachel Seidelman of Vancouver. Private Seidelman mentions that he may receive a gold stripe as he heard they were being given to soldiers who were wounded in his battalion. He also mentions that his right leg was wounded on the night of May 5 when going to capture some German trenches. On this night, Private Seidelman also recalls helping out a wounded officer.

Letter from Private Edward Joseph Seidelman, dated July 31, 1917. Sent from "Somewhere in France" to Rachel Seidelman of Vancouver. Private Seidelman mentions that guns were put in Vancouver's Stanley Park at the beginning of the war to defend the city from German ships in the Pacific Ocean. In other parts of the letter, he recites a literary passage, and recalls meeting a Chaplain at the hospital with whom he had a long chat one night.
