Anna R. Leith

Oral history interview with Anna R. Leith who was born in 1923 in Prince George. Studied bacteriology in University and wound up working in Bio-Medical Libraries. Involved in a number of associations, Canadian Society of Lab. Technologists; active in the General B. C. Library Association., president eventually, the B.C. Librarians, and Canadian Library Association. After she retired she joined the National Council of Jewish Women, the Genealogy Association of B.C, the JCC and the Jewish Historical Society.

Anne & Jack Black

Oral history interview with Anne & Jack Black who were born in Toronto and Winnipeg respectively. Jack was an electrician and later worked in a number of local Vancouver businesses. Anne was involved in numerous organizations, she was the chairman of the Kinsmen Club; Heart Foundation; Diabetic Association and Young Judea.

Anne Andrew

Interview with Anne Andrew on Jewish education in BC. Anne discusses her involvement with Temple Sholom School in Vancouver. She worked as a teacher for a few years before working as principal of the school for 20 years.

Anne Goldbloom

Oral History of Anne Goldbloom. Her father was from Poland, and her mother was from Russia, they meet in Liverpool. Her uncle, Jack Stark, was the first family member to come to Canada. He originally settled in Winnipeg but moved to Vancouver before Anne's family immigrated. Her father followed her uncle to Canada and they opened a store together. At 16 Anne got a job as a stenographer, a skill that she used working as Secretary for many Jewish community organizations. During WW2 she was in charge of the knitting group that was making items to send to the overseas soldiers. Most of the interview is about her work with the National Council of Jewish Women and their Baby Clinic. She talks a lot about the Jewish community that she grew up in Vancouver.

Anne Melul

Anne Melul has been active in the Vancouver Jewish community since her arrival in 1962, and has been shaped by formative experiences in studying abroad, teaching, traveling, motherhood, and 52 years of marriage to her husband Albert Melul, She has also been an active member of the National Council of Jewish Women and the Sephardic Orthodox congregation Beth Hamidrash.
