Renovations to interior of Orpheum Theatre, 884 Granville Street, Vancouver, British Columbia

Photograph depicts the interior of a theatre, most likely the Orpheum Theatre at 884 Granville St., Vancouver, British Columbia. Construction on the Orpheum was complete in 1927 by the Orpheum Vaudeville circuit; the theatre was used primarily for films until the 1970s. In 1974, the City of Vancouver purchased the theatre, undertaking extensive renovations to its Spanish Baroque style structure. It reopened in 1977 as the home of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and regularly hosts pop and classical concerts.
