The fonds consists of two series of love-letters written between Morris Soskin and Rose Hyams. These letters were written in 1921 between Vancouver (where Morris lived) and Montreal (where Rose lived). The fonds also includes a series of records created by the Soskin and Coleman families between 1921 and 1967. The fonds is predominantly correspondence but also includes newspaper and magazine clippings, postcards, photographs, and dried flowers.

Beth Israel Bulletin

Item is the Beth Israel Bulletin Vol. 10 No. 12 dated March 15, 1966 and addressed to Mrs. Rose Soskin. Under Sabbath Services, there is an announcement for Oneg Shabbat given by Mr. and Mrs. R. Coleman, in honour of their son's Bar Mitzvah, and an announcement for the Bar Mitzvah of Morris Victor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Coleman.

Newspaper clippings ca. 1923-1964

File contains newspaper clippings. File includes Morris Soskin and Amalia Hyams' obituaries and clippings that document Morris' work as a lawyer and involvement in the Jewish community. Except for an original clipping of one of Morris' obituaries (see Item 1), all of the clippings are photocopies. The photocopied clippings have not been digitized.

Miscellaneous Soskin and Coleman family records

Series consists of miscellaneous records created by the Soskin family and the Coleman family between May 10, 1921 and 1967. Series includes Rose and Morris' marriage certificate and passport; correspondence written by Morris to various recipients; an agreement for the sale of Sweet Sixteen Limited; Mayer Hyams' certificate of death; newspaper clippings including Morris Soskin's obituaries; photographs of members of the Soskin family and the Coleman family; and ephemera.

File contains 15 photographs dated from ca. 1926-1967. File includes photographs of members of the Soskin and Coleman families; the royal visit by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939; and furniture from Bob and Sid Coleman's company Dependable Furniture (later changed to Flexsteel Furniture).
