-Moe's father owned Samuel's Banana Importers which was the largest in Montreal; he became known as the "Banana King"
-He has supported the Vancouver Youth Orchestra for 10 years
-He has supported Juvenile Diabetes for 10 years
-For the last two items; he has received many awards for his philanthropy

In her later life Marjorie has focused on developing programs for the senior community. Helped opened the first Hadassah in Vancouver, in partnership with family business 'National Furniture' and Blossom Wine.

Oral history interview with Norman Brown who arrived in Vancouver in 1907 and Bernice immigrated to Vancouver after marrying Norman in San Fransico in 1930. Norman attended Talmud Torah school when he was a child. Both were involved in a variety of Jewish community organizations. Bernice was president of both Federated Jewish Women and National Council of Jewish Women. Norman was president of the Canadian Jewish Council. He discusses memories of early life in Strathcona and Mount Pleasant. Interview ends with a discussion of photographs.

Oral history interview with Ruth (nee Orkin) Miller, who was born in Montreal but grew up in Lachine. Her mother was from Latvia and her father was from Lithuania.

Oral history interview with Louis Averbach who born in the Ukraine in 1914. In Vancouver Louis worked in the furniture business, eventually setting up his own store 'Belmont Furniture'. Louis strongly advocates the importance of advertising throughout his career and afterwards. Moved into building later in life, first the Kamlo Motel on English Bay and later high rise apartments in the West End.
