Helen Rosen (Grunbaum)

Oral history interview with Helen (nee Grunbaum) Rosen. Helen volunteered by teaching remedial reading through the Council of Jewish Women. Worked for Red Cross for 25 years in a variety of roles: circulating nurse, Blood Bank and took in a foster child.

An interview with Harold Wodlinger who was born in Manitoba in 1890. He worked as a telegraph operator before joining the Canadian Army in the Artillery Corps and after he left. Harold bought a business in Leask, Saskatchewan from and Englishman and ran it for thirty years, though he also ran a farm in Leask raising cattle. Harold’s daughter Helen was in Vancouver so they decided to move to Vancouver in the 1970's. The interview is an in depth recount of the Wodlinger family history since arriving in Canada in the 1880's.

Jack Austin

Oral history interview with Jack Austin who was born in Calgary in 1932 and worked with the BC Liberal party with Arthur Liang on campaigns and on trade negotiations between Canada and US related to water. In Ottawa he worked with Paul Martin and Arthur Liang as well as Prime Ministers Pierre Elliot Trudeau and Jean Chretien in the energy and natural resources sector. He was awarded Mexico's Order of the Aztec Eagle for his services.

Langer family

Series contains photographs and some letters of the Langer family, beginning with the marriage of Fritz and Olga. Materials were created on Fritz and Olga's travels before having children, in daily life in Vienna, throughout the family's journey to Canada through France and Palestine, in daily life in Vancouver, and when visiting family in St. Louis. Series also includes photographs of friends of the Langer family.

Leon Braverman

Oral history interview with Leon Braverman who was born in Ganchasti, Bessarbia in 1890. He learned to be a watchmaker in Russia. Started his own watchmaking business which collapsed, he than worked at Birks jewelry store in Vancouver, than Miller's Jewelers.

Oral history interview with Liliane Mallin who born in British Columbia in 1927 and is married to Lloyd Mallin. Her parents were from Poland and Austria.
