Colour Mortifee Munshaw 35mm slide depicts a group of women working in a beauty shop, specializing in manicures; in Almaty, at this time known as Alma-Ata.
Note for this slide reads: "Phyllis decided to get her hair done. It was the largest beauty shop I have ever seen. A cut was about 75 cents (and shampoo). Manicurists - they wanted to do my nails but I decided to take a picture. Manicure was about 40 cents".
